"A photograph has four corners. If we are lucky then on the surface there will be a full stop. This full stop brings a story to the photo"
Roland Barthes
THE BOOK
The book is my primary medium. I love books immensely. Both the literary content and the book as an art object. I have had many books published, and I have illustrated even more for others.

HINDSHOLM
Wunderbuch 2022
The book documents a project that describes in pictures and text the peninsula Hindsholm north of Kerteminde on Funen. The project was initiated by Finn Thrane, and the participants are Peter Brandes, Mikkel Østergaard, Christina Capetillo, Charlotte Haslund Christensen, Kirsten Klein and the undersigned.
The project became an exhibition at the Johannes Larsen Museum in Kerteminde in 2022
BOGSTEDER / BOOKPLACES
Wunderbuch 2019
This book stems from my great love for books. I have photographed a number of different places where books set the mood. Sonny Ankjær Sahl, Anne Elisabeth Toft and Knud Romer have each written an essay about books for Bogsteder. In the year of publication, the book was chosen as the most beautiful publication of the year by the "Association for Bookcrafts"
SKRIVESTEDET / THE WRITING PLACE
In collaboration with the then director of the Karen Blixen Museum, Marianne Wirenfeldt Asmussen, we searched for Blixen's traces in Kenya. We visited the farm in Nairobi, Uncle Mogens' house by Lake Naivasha and Denys Finch Hatton's house by the Indian Ocean. The book was selected as one of the most beautiful publications of the year by the "Association for Book Crafts"
SKJULTE RUM - GLEMTE STEDER /
HIDDEN PLACES - FORGOTTEN SPACES
Nyt Nordisk Forlag 2009
Together with historian Anette Molbech, I have sought out and photographed spaces and places in abandoned and forgotten houses and buildings of cultural and historical value.
A selection of the book's photographs was exhibited at the National Museum of Photography at the Royal Library in Den Sorte Diamant 2010
BLOMSTERSPROG / FLOWER LANGUAGE
Broe Forlag 2009
Blomstersprog pays tribute to the relatively unknown fact that Karen Blixen was a trained painter and expressed herself visually with bouquets of flowers. The book follows the course of the year at Rungstedlund. I have photographed the house, the surroundings and the beautiful bouquets, which in the spirit of Karen Blixen were created by Helen Olsen. The museum's former director, Marianne Wirenfeldt Asmussen, has written the book's foreword, and the author Naja Marie Aidt, has written an essay for each season inspired by Karen Blixen .
The project was shown at the Karen Blixen Museum in 2010
PROJECTS
I carry out larger and smaller projects for companies and organizations - here are some examples.
FORESTS AND PEOPLE
For the Danish Ornithological Society I have documented a project that is being carried out in Uganda, Kenya and Nepal. The project is a forest management program that ensures forest and biodiversity conservation through sustainable local utilization in collaboration between local populations, forest authorities and DOF's local partners.
The project became an outdoor exhibition in ZOO Copenhagen 2022
BEIJING NOW
In 2012, I was invited by the Beijing city government to Beijing, China, to help document the city's people and its development. The images were used for a Chinese publication.
ARCHITECTURE
For Realdania, designers, architects and more, I photograph houses, buildings and interiors - for books, websites, exhibitions and more.
